Meet the Team

  • Lee Phillips, PMHNP, BC

    Lee Summer Phillips is a psychiatric nurse practitioner who is nationally certified. She has been in practice for over 30 years. She works with all age groups including children, adolescents, adults and the elderly. She has worked extensively in pediatrics with children and adolescents at CHKD as well as inpatient and residential adolescents. She has served as adjunct faculty at Sentara School of Health Professions and Norfolk State University. She has also provided mental health care at the The Barry Robinson Center and Naval Regional Medical Center in Portsmouth. She is licensed to practice in both Virginia and North Carolina.

    As a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP), Lee is skilled in psychiatric assessment and diagnosis and can prescribe medications and provide expert psychotropic medicationmanagement. Lee’s areas of specialty include Attention Deficit Disorders, Bipolar-Spectrum disorders, Treatment-Resistant Depression, and Anxiety Disorders. She has a special interest in treating the mental health needs of the elderly population. As an advanced practice nurse, Lee is committed to providing holistic, patient-centered, and evidenced-based care.

  • Kelly T. Woods, MA, NCC

    Kelly is a Resident in Counseling, a National Certified Counselor (NCC), practicing Neurotherapist, and also works as a psychometrician in our office. She is currently in the process of becoming board certified in play therapy and in neurofeedback while working on her license. Kelly completed her MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Regent University and has attended various workshops to expand her skill set. In addition, she is constantly updating her knowledge in the field to strive for effective and up-to-date clinical techniques for her clients. Her sole focus is promoting healthy development, emotional healing, the ability to self-regulate, and improved parent-child relationships.

    She takes an integrative approach to therapy that blends cognitive-behavioral, solution-focused, and psychoeducation to provide for the various needs and developmental levels of her clients. She has a unique ability in utilizing a client’s strengths and interests to build an effective therapeutic relationship that can allow for expression of thoughts and feelings to enable the process of healing and healthier development. She looks forward to joining with you and your family to find solutions for life’s challenges.
